With the closing of 2011 less than three hours off it’s time to officially tally the Found Money Tracker for the year. 

Yes, as many may know, each and every cent picked up since January 1, 2011 has been detailed, recorded and tallied.  From the penny found at the Test Track gift shop at EPCOT on 4.9.11 to the five Pound note found in the City Center of Bruges, Belgium on July 3 to the quarter found at the Dulles Washington Airport on the 11.3.11 layover on the way to Shanghai, it has all been accounted for.  All $51.81 cents. 

Some interesting stats:

Largest denomination found: $20.00 bill at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay 1.29.11

Smallest denomination found: One Canadian cent (equal to $0.0096) at RJF 12.14.11

Total bills found: Four. (1) $20, (1) £5, (1) $5, and (1) $1.

Currency found: U.S. Dollar, British Pound, Canadian Dollar

Total found outside of the United States (converted to USD): $8.44 (16.29% of total found)

Most common denomination found: The penny.  Found 388. (7.49% of total found)

Most found in one month: $20.63 in January (39.82% of total found)

Least found in one month: $0.03 in February (0.058% of total found)

Interesting find: Found one US dime in Brussels, Belgium.
